No Going Back

How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart, you begin to understand, there is no going back.

There are some things that time cannot mend. Some hurts that go too deep…that have taken hold.

~Frodo, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

I just thought this quote was very poignant and powerful... and also true for me on many levels.

I can agree with this sentiment - some things you cannnot go back to due to understanding more about the issue.

I am guessing this about returning to a faith stand this is less complicated but also quite sincere. However, with knowledge comes change - and change is a good thing. There is no going back to that simplicity of faith - at least not for me - I alreayd know too much (and been burned in away that required me to learn).

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is to high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.
