God Doesn't Exist (It Appears)

Lioness in zoo kills man who invoked God

KIEV (Reuters) - A man shouting that God would keep him safe was mauled to death by a lioness in Kiev zoo after he crept into the animal's enclosure, a zoo official said on Monday.

"The man shouted 'God will save me, if he exists', lowered himself by a rope into the enclosure, took his shoes off and went up to the lions," the official said.

"A lioness went straight for him, knocked him down and severed his carotid artery."

The incident, Sunday evening when the zoo was packed with visitors, was the first of its kind at the attraction. Lions and tigers are kept in an "animal island" protected by thick concrete blocks.

Truth, is indeed, stranger than fiction!

Mental problems don't mix very well with religion (e.g. Tom Cruise).

I kinda feel sorry for the guy. Isn't lowering yourself into a lion's den a little like chucking yourself off a tall tower to see if angels with catch you? I imagine God was waiting on the other side, shaking his head and saying, "You silly moron." Didn't he see there might be a notable difference between Daniel being thrown into the lion's den, and his going in just to "prove" God's existence? Oh well, I hope the Lord isn't too hard on him :)

Clearly the dude didn't have enough faith. We should prop him up in front of the TV, put on TBN and see if he's the guy Benny's been predicting would raise from the dead.

I personally think God was thinking those lions must be hungry and those Russians cant afford good meat.

Actually I did the exact same thing about 2 years ago. Sadly, I to was killed by the lioness that I approached. Fortunatly for me The whole event took place during the 2003 "See you at the Pole" event. Needless to say I was raised from the dead practically immediately. The biggest lesson I learned was that my faith seems to be surpisingly stronger after I am dead. I do not, however, recomend any course of action even remotely similar to this. Considering my extremely high level of faith things of this magnitude might come a little easier for me. Go in peace and God be with you all.

After getting munched by a lion and being brought back to life, you must have some pretty gnarly stigmata.

I kinda have the feeling that God's going to give him the stern look, then toussel his hair and laugh at his sorry blushing ass when he gets to heaven.

I immediately thought of "Bruce Almighty," when Morgan Freeman said, "Son, you can't expect to kneel in the middle of the road and live."

SCP brethren everywhere, how about a moment of silence? We've lost one of our own.

That is sort of like the joke about the guy who is drowning in a storm and says god's going to help me whenever someone comes by to help.

Hey Steve, you may have fixed Josh's blog but that doesn't change the fact that he hasn't posted in over a month. Is he all right? I know you guys have mentioned that he changed jobs again; I guess that's taking a lot of his time. If you see him, tell him we miss his pervasive use of profanity and keen spiritual insight.

Something about, don't tempt God... Somehow I doubt that anyone's opinion of the existence of God was shaken by this event.

Makes you wonder if there really is a God. Even after Moses pissed Him off, He still brought water from the Rock......

There is more proof to prove the existence of god more than the nonexistence.

Who made this website, do you know this person. have you seen them physically, your answer is probably no, well how do you know it exists, I think the fact that there is a website is proof enough there is a website.

same with a painting, the proof there was painter is that there is a painting

so isn't the universe proof of a creator

and with the big bang theory, The first rule of thermodynamics is that energy can't be created only transformed. so how does enough energy be created to make a bang and Aline everything so perfectly and create something as complex as the human body and other animals and all that if energy can't be crated.

j-chat.. the energy wasn't created, it was all in a single ball of infinite energy, and simply put exploded. There are mathematical as well as observational evidence to support this theory unlike the creation theory. The human body is complex because of billions and billions of years of evolution. It started off as simple single cell organisms. The biggest evidence christians seem to come up with to prove the existence of god is a banana ( google it). Yet there is plenty of evidence and theories to show how a universe without god is not only possible but probable. And yes i know there is no evidence that disproves god but there's also no evidence that can prove he exists.
